CHECKIN IN

Mid to upper 80's today !

Major storm came through here early this morning , i lost power for a good 5 hours ......but boy was it coming down , lighting, rain, and 60 to 70 mph winds ..... felt like i was in a tropical storm !

A couple that lives 3 blocks down the road from me had just bought a new mattress & box spring for their bed and put the old ones out by the road for pick-up , well the wind was so high it picked up both and the box spring ended up in one of my trees in my back yard and the mattress ended up against the fence in my front yard .........   .... it bent the top rail and 2 post .......   

Chit you ok ? Whats it like down there

I just had to float a guy's boat home about 4 houses down from me and tie it to a post, he didnt even know it was gone .....i caught it floating by my house ....   

Well i finally got all the water out of my house....good news...... here,s the bad news , i have to replace all my carpet , just installed last year , remove all the drywall / sheet-rock from the ceiling to the floor , remove all the insulation and let it dry before the black mold starts ..... then get into my savings account and spend about $8000.00 dollars to put it all back !   


Dont know about my central heating & cooling unit yet it is still bout half way under water ....if that's shot add about $6000.00 to the total .....   

Well i got most of my furniture out of the house and set up in my shop (which was and still is high and dry) we will be staying in it for a few day's until i get the house put back together , i just hate leaving my just restored cars outside but i got tarps to cover them with , so i hope the will be alright .

OH i talked to a buddy of mine this morning , he owns a wholesale carpet warehouse , he told me when i'm ready for it to come by and pick out what carpet i wanted ( free of charge) and he will deliver for free ....so no out off pocket cost for the carpet .....freebie ......      . Also talked to another friend of mine that own a insulation business , he said he's got all kinds of leftover insulation from jobs he has done just come and get it ....      that's 2 freebies .......

Had a very very exciting and bad day around here early this morning. a brick oven pizza shop and pub just down the street from my apartment building went up in flames in to a 3 alarm fire that caused an evacuation of my street for nearly 7 hours. The most frightening part of the whole situation was the fact that a used car dealership was only 20 feet away from the fire and the parking lot was full of cars. The fire department had to use 2 water cannon trucks to just to protect the dealership so the cars would not catch on fire.Me and the wife got away lucky with just a bunch of smoke filled air in our apartment ( windows were open cause the weather was nice ) but it took me about 2 hours at the car wash and then back home to get all the ashes and soot off my car and the house cleaned up.

Sorry I missed your posts guys. Good to hear you're both alright. Sounds like some friends are really helping you out Chit. Always good to hear that in today's cruel and messed up world.

My OT is over for now. They are keeping me on, as long as there is some work. Again some old friends helping out a guy.  

Finally got my house put back together & painted , all but the carpet and trim boards , i'll be putting the trim boards up and laying the carpet tomorrow ........then i can move back in Friday ......    ......OH best news is my central heating/cooling unit is fine ....no problems ....... 



I could get some of it done today but it's........     thirty    

   I'm all the way back in my house and my babies ( restored cars ) are back in theirs ...

Well after our lil flood my garden is dead , everything was at least 18 inches under water , so i'm going to try and get another one in before it gets to hot , but i will be planting some stuff in planters and 5 gallon buckets i also picked up 3 kiddie pools at the goodwill for almost nothing , that way i can move them into shade if i need to or move them to higher ground if needed ....

Hey Guys. Sorry I have not been around in a few days but we have had a family situation with the Grandson ( Shane ) We had been noticing he was getting shortness of breath when playing with him and he was complaining of his feet always being cold even though the weather has started to warm up. We took him to the doctor and after some tests he was found to have a small blockage in one of his heart valves that was restricting blood flow. He had to have a balloon angioplasty performed to clear the blockage ( that was not fun to see a 3 year old have to go through ) Doctor says that the procedure was successful but he now has to be kept under watch for at least the next 6 months with by-weekly checks of his blood pressure and pulse rate. He is my Pride and Joy as you guys know and it is breaking my heart to see what he is going through

Hey guys coming back with a update on the Grandson. He had his re-check Friday and the Heart doctor says all is looking well from his Heart procedure. That being said I had another life changing situation happen to me and him last night. As I have told you guys in the past that Me and my wife take him each weekend to give our daughter a break and every Saturday I always take him for a late afternoon/ early evening walk along the new bike path that is connected to the bridge that spans the river from my street to the town over the river. Well last night was one of the most heart stopping things that I have ever been a part of ( including military service ) Just after 6:00 P.M. last night as we were starting to head back home on the walk way ( bike path ) a guy coming towards us stopped to ask me the time when I told him that it was 6:10 P.M. he continued to walk about 15- 20 feet and then stopped again and asked me if I would want to sell the little boy to him for $1000.00 cash on the spot. I was totally taken back and asked him to repeat what he said he asked a 2nd time with the same offer. I reached for my cell phone and told him I was calling 911 at the same time 2 motor bikes were coming from behind him coming in my direction. I stopped the bikes and told the 2 guys what had just happened. They questioned the guy and for a third time he had the same request of paying $1000.00 cash for my grandson. When these 2 guys who I never found out their names grabbed their cell phones and told this scum they were also gonna call 911 then this guy starting running over to the other side of the bridge.The 2 guys on motorbikes stayed with me and Shane until we got back to the end of the bike path and made sure we were not followed. I called the police and reported the situation and they sent an officer within 10 minutes of my call. Gave them a complete break down of what this guy was wearing and physical breakdown such as hair color and facial features. Was told today that my local police contacted the police on the other side of the bridge that this prick ran to and that he fits a profile of someone that they have been looking for with other charges/complaints in the area of a group being tied to a child trafficking ring in the area. I thank GOD for one thing that this guy never once even tried to show a weapon of any kind.

Hey guys given you an update on that situation I went through with my Grandson Shane last Saturday. Got called at work today by the Police department ( from the town across the river ) they had a guy in custody fitting the profile I gave them. Went to their police station and picked him out of a lineup ( it was him ) Police notified me that they picked him up on Monday afternoon after a neighbor of his called police and reported hearing child`s crying and screaming coming from his house. On investigating they found he had 2 young male children locked in a bedroom in his basement. 1 child was from my city that was reported missing 2 weeks ago and the 2nd child was reported missing just last week from down the street where he lived. He is gonna be in court Wednesday afternoon and I am gonna be there to see that this prick SCUM BAG gets just what he has coming to him. He better not get off easy or you guys just might lose me from being around here because I just may want to kill the SON OF A BITCH myself

Well the PRICK is going to jail but I am not very happy. He got a 6 month sentence for child abduction and 5 years probation. The judges ruling was based on the fact that even though the police had a search warrant it was found out that the police did not give the SCUM BAG his Miranda Rights after entering his home. Also he had no past criminal record.This is why our court system SUCKS. The police made 1 mistake and now in 6 months this prick is gonna walk free with the chance to do it again. Thats if he even sees the inside of a jail cell. His lawyer has successfully gotten a appeal hearing on the Miranda rights violation. It goes to the First Circuit Court of our district on Monday of next week. There is the real possibility that this PRICK may walk away free      of our justice system

Just coming back to give update on that appeal hearing that took place today. The First Circuit Court Judge denied and upheld the original ruling of 6 months prison time and 5 years probation. He based his ruling on the fact that even though the police upon entering the home did not read the Miranda rights they had the right to investigate the reports of childs crying and screaming as reported by a neighbor due to the fact that no children had every been seen in or around the home before. This guy had no family in the area and lived alone.Part of me and my wife are happy that he did not get the charges thrown out but are still not happy with only a 6 month sentence and 5 years probation

Hey Guys my niece Melissa just called. A little background first. About 10 days ago she went to an audition for the show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, It went well and she got to meet the producers. They told her she would be entered into a lottery to be a contestant. They just called SHE MADE IT !!       The show will be taped June 24th. She gets 1,000 $ for being picked I HOPE SHE HITS IT BIG

Hey Nuttin.... I am still around and kicking BUDDY. Just been busy with work and my Dad has been back in the hospital with a Gall Bladder stone that caused an infection to set in. He has been too sick for any type of operation so on Thursday the doctor is gonna insert a tube into his Gall Bladder to drain it and hopefully get the stone out. After that they think they can then control the infection. I sure hope so cause on Friday he turns 91 years old. That is another reason the doctor does not want to operate until they can control the situation.

OH i'm still kicking , no one was posting so i just checked and then went back to doing what ever i was doing , working in my my more than anything , plus picking stuff out of my bucket brigade /swimming pool brigade garden ......

You are totally wrong NUTTIN. We all still got a lot in common. We all been to HELL and back and back to HELL again to many times together. I do not know about anyone else but even though me and the wife have some what gotten back on our feet we are still trying to live day by day and paycheck to paycheck. Same story as the past years still can never get ahead of the game

Everybody hits those bud everybody , we helped eachother through many of them over the years and we will help again if the need be ....just remember WE ARE ALL FRIENDS HERE .....and you can Take that to the bank .......        

Try to remember we are here and although some of us may be a lil better off right now.... that could all change at a drop of the hat ....but we were all there and went through the grinder together and thats one part of my/our lives we will never forget !
