Yes I agree sportsnut should be a great match up. Just to bad that the N.B.A. once again has it`s head up it`s ASS by making everyone wait 1 full week until Game 1 next Thursday June, 4th..... Give me back the GOOD OLD DAYS when N.B.A. Finals games were played on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at either 1:00 P.M. or 3:30 P.M. or if anyone is really a true N.B.A. old timer and can remember the 1985 Finals between the Boston Celtics and L.A. Lakers where Game 1 was played May 27,1985 ( Celtics beat Lakers 148-114 ) in what became known as the Memorial Day Massacre. The Lakers would go on to win the Championship 4 games to 2 but those were the days when kids growing up could enjoy watching Championship games and not have to worry about going to bed. Now all games start at 9:00 P.M. and kids no longer can enjoy them. Hell even us old timers who have to go to work in the mornings cannot even enjoy it anymore

Totally agree Jos; games start way too late for most people to enjoy. I remember those games you are talking about as a lifetime Celtic fan. Loved the afternoon games on weekends. Baseball has the same problem with starting time of their postseason games!

Well guys it is time to refresh this thread as one of the greatest times of the year is nearly here ( March Madness ). Conference tournaments start next week leading up to selection Sunday on March 13th. This year I believe there is no #1 favorite to win it all ( throw about 10 teams into a hat ) and you could get the Champ.

Also the N.B.A. season is winding down and it looks like a run away train out in Golden State is going to set the record books. Back here in Massachusetts I have to say the best part of this basketball season has been watching my Boston Celtics with no big time players and only 1 All Star and a coach in Brad Stevens ( who all N.B.A. experts ) said could not coach in the league have done wonders and stand as the 3rd best team in the Eastern Conference. I still know they are not Championship contenders but could be a dark horse down the line. I am sure Sportsnut as a long time Celtics fan is probably just as surprised as I am with this very young team.

Been watching a good bit of basketball lately. Yes, the Celtics have to be one of the bigger surprises in the NBA. Young coach and young team have things looking up. Shocked about all the old timers ripping on Steph Curry. He's an amazing shooter, who creates his own shots and has unlimited range. Last Saturday night's game was so much fun to watch!

GONZAGA going 9 minutes without a bucket did them in !

Chit I know Gonzaga going 9 minutes without a basket was a BIG time problem but the officiating by the refs was my biggest problem in this game how the HELL is a Championship game called so tight that every big name player on both teams are in deep foul trouble with still 8 or 9 minutes to be played. The biggest mistake was the non-call of the North Carolina player having his hand clearly out of bounds on that tie up call that gave N. Carolina the ball with Gonzaga leading late in the game.I do not know if it would have made a difference in the final score but how that play was said to be not reviewable is beyond me and even all the so called experts on ESPN said that is was a bogus call that shifted the momentum to Carolina. All said and done the Bulldogs of Gonzaga showed that they truly belonged in the title game and my HAT goes off to them even in defeat

All in all .....all 4 teams were having trouble buying baskets through out the games ...

Hey Sportsnut I know you like the Celtics along with me being life long fans. What do you think of the trade with Cleveland for Kyrie Irving. I like the deal myself Irving is 3 years younger than Thomas Jae Crowder never really impressed me the young kid playing in Europe who the Hell knows what he is and that Brooklyn pick next year was going to be no lock to be a top 3 pick again. I like the Celtics chances going forward with this addition of Irving going out and getting Haywood from Utah and still having the 2 young guns in Brown and Tatum to build on. Not saying this year but I think Ainge is heading in the right direction building this team back up from youth when Cleveland and Golden State will have to be coming down over the next few years.

I really like Kyrie, but I think Ainge really overpaid with what they gave the Cavs in return. Ainge was so stubborn giving up assets recently. Really would have loved to see Jimmy Butler in green. This trade probably had a lot to do with the impending big payday Isiah is due next season. Don't think Danny was comfortable giving a 5' 9" guard $200M. The Celts have an entirely different roster now and I don't know if they gained any ground on the Cavs in the East at least in the short term. Love Tatum as their top draft pick. We'll see. Going to hard for the Celts or the Cavs to beat the Warriors for a couple more years anyways.

What a great big kick in the BALLS last night on opening night for mine and sports Boston Celtics... Gordon Haywood going down with one of the most gruesome injuries I have ever seen just 5 minutes into his first game. Left ankle broken and foot turned complete around Early afternoon reports here in Boston are saying it was a clean break and no ( as of now ) ligament damage. Surgery being planned either here in Boston or back in Indiana where he has a doctor who has worked with him from his college days at Butler. Early recovery time is between 6 to 8 months which would put him out for entire season including any playoff run. Only bright spot now is this will force coach Brad Stevens to have to give the young kids Jalen Brown and Justin Tatum more playing time and have to learn on the go. Last night after the injury they fell down by 17 points in the first half but never gave up ( which they could have ) and came all the way back to have a 4 point lead with 2 minutes to play but just could not hold on. I want to be a glass half empty half full attitude right now and lets see how these young kids respond.

Well Sports I do not know about you but I am starting to get Super excited about our CELTICS. 9 straight wins and the kids Jalen Brown and Justin Tatum are really looking like they are coming into their own. Kyrie Irving is starting to make everyone else around him look great. Al Horford looks like he is a totally different player with Kyrie on the floor. Lets see if this thing can keep rolling along

Hey fellas just about that time to start the MARCH MADNESS. Conference Championships week kicks off starting tonight and through next week leading up to selection Sunday March 11th. I got a least one local  lock to get into the dance with the Rhode Island Rams and could get the Providence Friars ( who are on the bubble ) depending on how they do in the BIG EAST Tournament. My Boston College Eagles are on the outside looking in and would have to win the ACC Tournament to get in which is not gonna happen. But I am looking forward to this years BIG DANCE because I do not believe there is a clear cut favorite to win it all for the first time in the last 5 years.
