LETS TALK FOOTBALL

I know my are already favored by 9 to 10 points for the AFC Championship Game Sunday against Baltimore, but even for a die hard PATS fan like me I have to go with the words of college footballs Lee Corso ( Not so fast my friends ) I think this is gonna be just as close as last years AFC Championship between these 2 teams. Of course I hope I am wrong and my blow them out . on this one. Do not know if there is any real KARMA about history repeating itself,but if it does I like the PATS chances of winning it all. The SUPERBOWL is being played on February 3,2013 in the Superdome in New Orleans that will be exactly 11 years to the day ( February 3,2002 ) that New England won their very 1st Superbowl title in New Orleans over the so called " Greatest Show On Turf " St. Louis Rams. I am gonna bank on history`s side and go with the KARMA. No surprise to you guys I guess Wish it was Sunday already these should be 2 very good Championship Games. Only thing is there are now only 3 NFL games left in the season. After that we have to turn our attention to March Maddness,Spring Training ( Baseball ) NBA Basketball,and at least a half year of NHL Hockey. NFL Draft in April, but still a 6 month layoff again before the next NFL season I know all you guys probably feel the same way as I do. We all love all sports but there is just something about the NFL season that brings out the beast in all of us

Eagles to hire Chip Kelly


Oregon coach Chip Kelly will be the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told ESPN.

Kelly re-emerged as a candidate recently and an agreement was just reached Wednesday

Didn't Kelly just say last week he was staying? Guess the Ducks already had the coordinator ready to go as the next coach, heard that on their bowl game. Hope they have continued succcess, Les.

Big gamble for Kelly going to Philly. They just ran a great coach out of town and their fans are well known for even booing Santa Claus!

I think Oregon has to interview other coaches for the HC job per state law but I believe the job will go to Mark Helfrich the current OC. Ask for interviews with Petersen (BSU), Patterson (TCU) and maybe Gruden get it done then hire Helfrich. This has to be done quick with LOI day just three weeks away.

About the Philly fans, I've already started a “Kelly must go” thread on one of their forums .

49ers(-3.5) over Falcons I expect a high scoring shootout; the difference being the Niners defense is better. Kaepernick outduels Matty Ice--41-27 Niners

AFC Championship
Realize I made a pick right after last weekends games. Been questioning my knee jerk reaction based on how well the Ravens always matchup with the Pats! Joe Flacco has been successful on deep passes all year. So the Evil Genuis Belichick will play the 2 deep safeties(Tampa-2) and take this threat away! Brady, Hernandez, Welker and company send Ray Ray to the Old Linebacker Home. Patriots 34 Ravens 20 covering the 9.5 points.

So I guess it will be the Patriots with Coach Belichick going after Chuck Noll's record of 4 Super Bowl wins against the 49ers who will be going after their 6th Lombardi Trophy(Matching the Steelers). So I'm picking a Steeler fan's nightmare Super Bowl! Just hoping for 2 great games this weekend!

Two great games coming up,i will say this though if the OC of the FALCONS will let RYAN loose and keep their foot on the gas the FALCONS just may pull it out !
Ryan just keeps finding ways to win, just like last week.....on the other hand if the FALCONS don't close up some holes in the secondary it may just be a 49ER touchdown feast .......

I doubt it will be much of anything , even so it could be a year bowl ban or something less, like a few scholarships lost..... but who knows with the NCAA!.......

This has been going on for two years now, last I heard Oregon had a deal with a lower ncaa group and there would be no bowl bans and just a few scholarships. This was our self imposed penalties and everything was OK, now the higher ncaa group wants to “talk” with Oregon. When this happened it was a “grey” area now it's a bad thing and there are other schools that used the same services. BTW, screw the ncaa

One thing I respect more than anything about Coach Kelly is that he not only recruits great football players but they also have to be great people. Since CK has been head coach none of his recruits have got into trouble.

49 ers SU and - 4. Falcons had no answer for Wilson in the second half and won t fare any better against Kaepernick. Don t think he will run for 100 yards, but will run for first downs when needed, and will use Tight End Davis, and hit a few deep ones to Crabtree. 49 ers also have the best defense still playing, if not in the NFL. Falcons won their playoff game, but
blew a 20-0 lead, a luxury I don t see them having this week. Don t really see this one being close !

Ravens SU and + 8 1/2. OK to say I am not fond of the Pats would be putting it mildly !! That said, they are the one team that is not in awe of Golden Boy Brady and his crew. They flat out know how to play them, and love the opportunity. Oh the Pats will score some points, no one shuts them down completely, but the Ravens will man up on the receivers limiting the quick passes the Pats live on, and put enough pressure on Brady to not let him get comfortable. Flacco has proven he can win playoff games. and will get the ball to Boldin and Smith, with just enough of a running game. Put it all together, and the Ravens win a close one.

OK I put all my eggs in the Tom Brady basket and they got smashed! Flacco stepped up and shut up all his critics. Will be rooting against the Ravens, it's in my black and gold blood to hate them! Not sure who I'll pick yet!
