Penn State's Blue/White spring game was yesterday. You can really tell Bill O'Brien loves TE's. They have a wealth of talent there. Need to find a QB, looks like hot shot recruit Christien Hackenberg has a real chance to start this fall.

Although they probably won't listen, I love to see the Steelers grab Alabama RB Eddie Lacy with the 17th pick. Also like WVU WR Tavon Austin, but I think he'll go before that.

Gonna be nice weather this weekend low 70's for Oregon's spring game at 11am (cost three cans of food) then Duck's baseball after at 2pm (cost $9), maybe lady Ducks soccer at 5pm (cost free). There will be four of us and I think the vote will be 4-0 to skip the soccer game and get a burger and a couple pints instead . Really looking forward to a great day of the Duck's.

Dion Jordan is the third pick in the draft at DE, not bad for a kid who cane to Oregon to play WR.

Well the Steelers pass on needed offensive players and pick highly-productive pass rusher Jarvis Jones out of Georgia. The experts love this pick. I am not so sure. Hope he's the next James Harrison.

Thanks Chit, was hoping our SEC reporter would check in. Hearing alot of good things abount him this morning. Bet you are happy with all the Tide players picked last. Lacy is still out there, don't expect him to be there at 48, but he could start right away for the Black and Gold.upchitcreek wrote:sportsnut wrote: Well the Steelers pass on needed offensive players and pick highly-productive pass rusher Jarvis Jones out of Georgia. All of Steeler Nation was waiting for the Steelers to pick Lacy(I know, I was waiting with them on Twitter) and they take Le'Veon Bell from Michigan State. He's another huge back, productive back. Seems there was some kind of injury issue with Lacy. I have a real bad feeling about this!

Haven't seen that in any of the reports on Bell. He rushed for 1700 yards last year and averaged 4.7.

Good day of Oregon FB and BB, Oregon's O looked great even faster than last year (I think 107 plays), the WR looked much better. Only down side is the LB's looked a little slow..
In BB the Ducks beat Stanford 6-4.

I was not that happy with the Steelers draft either but the same site gave them an A-. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1621026-nfl-draft-2013-results-biggest-winners-losers-of-the-nfl-draft#/articles/1620969-2013-nfl-draft-grades-team-by-team-report-cards-results/page/26 Mel Kiper gave them a B. They did fill alot of needs and got alot youger at backup QB with Landry Jones. Plus they signed Mike Golic Jr as an UDFA; which means some love on the Mike and Mike show.
I really like the Vikings draft; they choose not 1 but 2 Penn State Linebackers!

Everett Golson out at Notre Dame
Starting quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame, the university confirmed in an email to ESPN.com on Saturday night.
"Everett is not enrolled at the university. Federal law and our own polices preclude us from discussing specifics," spokesman Dennis Brown said in an email.
Golson's departure is academic-related, a source with direct knowledge of situation confirmed to ESPN's Joe Schad. The Chicago Tribune earlier reported Golson's exit was because of an academic violation.

RIP , another great one is gone , i remember me and my dad watching him play ,my dad was alive at that time , kinda brings back memories ...
NFL legend Deacon Jones dies at 74
David "Deacon" Jones, the Hall of Fame defensive end credited with terming the word "sack" for how he knocked down quarterbacks, has died. The Washington Redskins said that Jones died of natural causes at his home in Southern California on Monday night. He was 74.
"Deacon Jones was one of the greatest players in NFL history. Off the field, he was a true giant," said Redskins general manager Bruce Allen, whose father, George, coached Jones with the Los Angeles Rams. "His passion and spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was a cherished member of the Allen family and I will always consider him my big brother."
Because sacks didn't become an official statistic until 1982, Jones' total is uncertain. His impact as a premier pass rusher and team leader is not.

No risk contract for Pats. Gives ESPN something to talk about other than Lebron. I sometimes think the evil genius Belichick does things like this just so he can mess with the press. I think he loves this. Football wise, can't see the Pats taking one of the greatest QBs ever off the field to put a package in for Tebow.

David Cornwell commits to Alabama
It took some time, but David Cornwell (Norman, Okla./Norman North) -- the ESPN 150's No. 1 pocket-passing quarterback -- finally ended up where he wanted to go all along.
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/9388391/top-qb-prospect-david-cornwell-commits-alabama-crimson-tide
I gotta check this kid out , dont know anything about him just yet .
I already checked out PARK he would have been a good one !
Cornwell committed to Alabama on Friday, just minutes after fellow Crimson Tide quarterback target Jacob Park (Goose Creek, S.C./Stratford) gave a verbal pledge to Georgia.

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. -- Aaron Hernandez was arrested Wednesday morning, more than a week after an acquaintance of the New England Patriots tight end was found dead in an industrial park near his house.

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. -- Aaron Hernandez was arrested Wednesday morning, more than a week after an acquaintance of the New England Patriots tight end was found dead in an industrial park near his house.
Less than two hours following his arrest, Hernandez was released by the Patriots, who initially announced the transaction on their Twitter account before formalizing it in an official statement.

Even as a DIE HARD PATRIOTS fan the team did the right and smart thing cutting Hernandez today. I hope he rots in JAIL and then goes straight to HELL on a one way trip ..... If no murder weapon ever shows up and this guy gets off because of circumstanial evidence there is truly a major fault in our legal system

Re: LETS TALK FOOTBALL
I didn't think this would be that bad and Oregon would get a “hand slap” from the ncaa, turns out Oregon got a “high 5” instead. Biggest difference between UO and tOSU, USC is that Oregon didn't lie or turn their back on the ncaa. Most of the sanctions from the ncaa in this report Oregon already did last year. Not a big deal, GO DUCKS!! WTD!!upchitcreek wrote:NCAA hands Ducks 3-year probation
