Nothing official from Coach Altman but the rumor is he didn't practice this week and is still wearing a boot.

Congrats to Nuttins UCONN HUSKIES for taken down Syracuse tonight. Too bad games like this in the BIG EAST are now gonna be a memory of the past once the big split comes with all the catholic schools saying BYE BYE days ahead for what once was a great college basketball conference.

Penn State hoops coach Pat Chambers is stepping up big time for charity. He is donating $10 per student attending tonight's game to THON which is the largest student run charity event in the country! It's a weekend long dance marathon with all donations to pediatric cancer research. They raised over $10 million last year and are shooting for $11 million this year! Record for student attendence at the Bryce Jordan Center is around 6,000. Hope they break it tonight! Hats off to Coach Chambers and the Penn State students!!!!! I was able to talk/hang out with Walton about 40 times in 20 years while following the Dead. The first time I met him I was 17 and as soon as I saw him I was thinking “it Bill frickin' Walton!”. I knew I was going to talk to him but didn't know what to say, didn't want to do the “man, you're the best...blah, blah, blah...”. After that first meeting anytime we saw each other (a few times he had Bird and McHale in tow) we would chat for a while, give each other a “high” five, a hug and say “see ya at the next show”.

The coolest thing was about five weeks ago when I went to the OREvsAZ game, I was in the cheap seats but was able to get to floor level before the game. I got close enough to Walton that he saw me, he waved at me flashed the peace sign and a big smile, I gave a thumbs up and we both laughed while about 30 feet apart.

I hate the Dukies but have to give props to Ryan Kelly, who put on an amazing performance.

HUSKIES lost to Cinn, but I was proud of the effort, as they played without Napier, who had a boot on his foot. Hope he is not done for the year, as they need 1 more win to hit 20, which no one thought they would do.
