9-6 on my NFL picks yesterday! Huge and shocking win for my Steelers made it quite enjoyable! Hopefully Ben will be healthy enough to play next week; but old man Charlie, a hometown hero in Pittsburgh, might have saved the Steelers season! Didn't see that one coming!

As far as the BCS and the bowls, as the BCS always says it is in place to make sure the top 2 teams meet in the Championship, not to make sure the best 10 teams play in the BCS bowls! The obscure rule that got NIU into the Orange Bowl was put in place to avoid anti-trust threats from the smaller conferences!
Wish 'pretty boy' Kirk would use his enormous 'soapbox' to SCREAM for a real playoff instead of humiliating the poor kids form Northern Illinois by saying how they didn't deserve the greatest accomplishment in the history of their school! I think it all worked out very well as we now get a great Cotton Bowl matchup (Oklahoma/Texas A&M) in addition to the BCS bowls! Let the Bowling begin!

Butch Jones takes Tennessee job


Tennessee has hired Butch Jones, calling a Friday afternoon news conference to introduce the coach, who is leaving Cincinnati.



"It is truly an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Vol Nation!" Jones, 44, tweeted Friday morning.



Jones takes the job after declining an offer to become the new coach at Colorado. A six-year contract was finalized with the Volunteers early Friday, sources told ESPN, and Cincinnati said Jones had resigned his position with the Bearcats effective immediately.

Schools that hire Coaches before the BCS CG is played should be given stiff penalties, including loss of scholarships, and possible bowl bans. It hurts the kids playing at the school the coach is leaving in their bowl game .
