Boston Strong 1 Year Anniversary of the Marathon Bombings

Post by Josilv5 on Mon Apr 14, 2014 6:38 pm

Gonna be a very emotional day on Tuesday April 15th. Marking 1 year from the tragedy that hit my states Capitol City. Took the day off with 3 other guys from my warehouse and going up to Boston for the special ceremony that is planned at 2:49 P.M. ( the time that the 1st Bomb went off ) killing 3  and massive injuries to another 264 people. Since this tragedy hit close to home here in Southeast Massachusetts ( some 20 of the injuries were sustained by folks from my area of the state ) my company started a special fund last year to help the injured ( never disclosed this before because we wanted to see 1st how much money we could raise ) Very Happy to announce that tomorrow in Boston my company will be proudly presenting a check to the Boston Marathon Bombing Fund in the amount of $ 60,000 to help the surviving members of our local community. GOD BLESS all those that survived and Most of all GOD BLESS the families of the 3 people that lost their lives. It will be a day never forgotten in Massachusetts History. Still very Sad Sad  and  Evil or Very Mad about what took place.

Hey guys just got back from Boston about a hour and half ago. What a truly moving and special day it was at the Marathon Bombing Ceremony. What a amazing tribute that took place at the Heinz Convention Center prior to the actual ceremony at the Marathon finish line. The tribute had survivors from the bombings speak along with Vice President Joe Bidden. The most moving part was before the tribute started they showed a video piece honoring the 3 people that died. There was not a dry EYE in the house especially during the tribute to 8 year old Martin Richard. I heard that both ESPN and CNN showed the tribute live on TV but after it was over probably the most touching and brought to tears moment is when Martin Richard`s sister who is now 8 herself ( finally learning to walk again herself from her injuries ) ask to speak to the audience and paid a special tribute to her brother saying that she wished she could be with him in Heaven instead of having to go on without him. You could hear a pin drop in that convention center with everyone in tears including Vice President Bidden. The ceremony scene at the finish line with the moment of silence at 2:49 P.M. when the 1st bomb went off and the singing of God Bless America and the National Anthem is one moment that will stick with me the rest of my life. Still have chills from what I saw today.
